Former HSV player Pierre-Michel Lasogga says goodbye to football. He most recently played in the Regionalliga West.

Former Bundesliga professional Pierre-Michel Lasogga announced the end of his football career. “The day came … I say goodbye to my active career as a footballer,” wrote the 33-year-old on Instagram. “As a young boy, I had the dream of playing in front of thousands of fans in big stadiums – and I was able to experience that. I am incredibly grateful for this trip,” added Lasogga.

The striker played for Hertha BSC and Hamburger SV, among others, before he also came to a last assignment for second division team FC Schalke 04 in May. Actually, he last kicked there in the second team in the Regionalliga West. In total, Lasogga has 128 Bundesliga games (34 goals), 60 missions in the 2nd league (27) and 16 games in the DFB Cup (eleven goals).

Abroad, Lasogga also wore the leds united English club and was also active in Qatar. “I always gave everything and fully identified myself with you,” wrote Lasogga to his clubs: “Now I close this chapter and look forward to what comes next.”
