The fire in the thatched roof broke out on Tuesday morning around half past eleven. One person was injured, a spokesperson for the Security Region reports. It is about the occupant of the house where the fire broke out. The victim was injured in his hand and was taken to the hospital.

According to the safety region, the fire was created in the roof of the upstairs apartment. Prior to the fire, several local residents would have heard a loud bang, according to NH reporter Lisa Dekker. There are two stores under the house. They have suffered a lot of water damage due to the fire brigade’s extinguishing work.

Building can be considered lost

The damage to the entire building is so great that the building can be considered lost, the fire brigade reports. Images show that a large part of the thatched roof has gone up in flames.

According to NH reporter Daan Visser, the roof has since collapsed. The windows of the house have also jumped. The fire brigade kept a neighboring house wet to prevent the fire from skipping.
