The staff of the Dutch Railways are ceasing today again. According to FNV, the NS is “not over the bridge” in the CAO conflict. “The management of NS only wants to be around the table with the trade unions when the actions are suspended, but puts virtually nothing new in return,” said FNV director Henri Janssen. The trade union finds that unacceptable.
Due to the strike there are barely NS trains in Noord-Holland, Flevoland, Gelderland and a large part of Overijssel. According to a spokesperson for the FNV trade union, the strikes will also have consequences outside the region for the timetable.
Despite the announced strike, reporter Rachel Morsink sees a few travelers dripping into the station at Hilversum Central Station. “A few people walk on the platforms and the kiosk is just started. If you didn’t know better, you would think it’s a day like all the other.”
Only between Hoofddorp, Schiphol and Amsterdam Central today in Noord-Holland runs four times per hour. Nevertheless, travelers seem to be able to travel the province from Hilversum Central Station, Morsink says NH Radio.
“When I look at the information boards, I see a nice surprise: there are a few trains. One to Utrecht, Amersfoort Centraal and Amersfoort Vathorst goes,” says Morsink. According to her, a sprinter also drives into the Gooi, but it already stops due to the strike at Naarden-Bussum station.
