The bridge at Macharen will be open again for car traffic after a four -day interference on Monday afternoon. Cars could not drive over the bridge since Friday, because flashing lights lingered and the bridge remained ajar.
On Monday at the end of the afternoon, the malfunction was resolved and cars can drive over the bridge again. Since Friday morning, the municipality was busy remedying the malfunction.
The bridge was tested on Monday and always opened and closed. Cyclists, pedestrians and scooters therefore had to wait a short time until the bridge was down before they could pass.
In recent days, cyclists and pedestrians were able to pass the bridge over a small threshold despite the malfunction. The malfunction has no consequences for ship traffic.

When the malfunction arose on Friday morning, participants of the De Vunderkeloop running competition were in front of a closed bridge from Deursen-Dennenburg. According to local residents, there are more problems with the bridge.
