A disoriented pigeon has caused a curious interruption in the European Championship game of the German U21 soccer players against the Czech Republic.
The pigeon sat motionless on the lawn of the stadium in Dunajska Streda, Slovak.
The players of both teams had to be careful not to step on them. According to Rocco Reitz, referee Alexis Herrera Hernández interrupted the encounter in the eighth minute.
Then a folder ran onto the field, grabbed the pigeon with one hand, carried it off the lawn and brought it outside through the player tunnel. After about a minute, the game could be continued with a corner kick for Germany.
