Last Saturday a consultation took place between the fifteen victims of abuse within the church and the Belgian bishops. The chairman of the papal committee for sexual abuse in Rome is coming to Belgium on 10 July. He wants to hear from the Belgian bishops how far it is with their recovery plan. Jan Puype, one of the victims, has a clear answer: “Nowhere.”
Nothing has been arranged about financial allowance. In Rome, on the other hand, they do seem to continue the work of the previous pope. In September the same group of victims who previously met Pope Francis in Brussels will go to Rome.
