The controversial prayer healer Tom de Wal wants to open a new church in Eindhoven. The church must start in January, he says in a live stream on YouTube.
“I have a very cool announcement,” speaks to the audience. “We are going to start a new church. We will start it in Brabant, in Eindhoven.” He adds that he cannot tell ‘everything’ about it yet.
And it doesn’t stop there for the prayer healer. After this he wants to start another church in Limburg. “In Brabant and Limburg you can drive from village to village, from city to city where nothing or hardly anything happens for the gospel.” He states that the churches closed years ago ‘to make apartments out of them’.
‘Prophetic confirmations’
The shore enthusiastically: “God has spoken: it will be the new way of working, new churches,” he says. According to him, the location in Eindhoven came to ‘our heart’ in a special way. “It was confirmed with prophetic confirmations. God has brought the leaders, a team is already creating.” John and Nur van Praise Tilburg will deliver people, also for the team. “That says something about unity and her heart. Just great.”
The shore says in the YouTube stream that he wants to start a hundred new churches in the Netherlands, starting with twelve in every province.
Who is Tom de Wal?
Tom de Wal (31) from Oosterhout founded Frontrunners Ministries in 2016. With this religious organization he organizes healing and liberation services throughout the country.
The meetings are controversial. During these services, people could be ‘cure’ from diseases such as MS, Parkinson’s and cancer and ‘liberated’ from ‘demons’ such as homosexuality and autism.
Frontrunners Ministries is a foundation with an ANBI status. ANBI stands for a public benefit institution, these are organizations that must aim for at least ninety percent the public benefit. Examples are hospitals and environmental organizations.
De Wal has collected millions in recent years. In 2023 alone, he received five million in donations. He wants to spend part of this money on the construction of a new mega church in Dussen, but local residents are not happy with that.
In December 2024 he moved in his permit application for the new building and is currently organizing events in the former party center De Rietpluim. Later he probably wants to build a new church, but he has not yet applied for a permit for that.
