The fire broke out around 11.30 pm, after which the fire brigade arrived with five tanker sprayers. Corps from surrounding places, such as Alkmaar and Egmond aan Zee, also offered support.
The fire was under control a little after midnight. The fire brigade was then busy with the area for some time.
Nothing is known about the cause of the fire, a spokesperson for the security region says. There is also nothing to say about possible damage to the nature reserve at the moment.
