The German team only has difficulties against an outsider. Attacker Nick Woltemade is overriding – and decides the game early on.

Depending on the German U21 at the European Championship in Slovakia. In the first group game, the team of national coach Antonio di Salvo 3-0 (2-0) won against outsiders Slovenia and fell on their favorite role.

Nick Woltemade became a match winner for the DFB team with a triple pack (19th, 42nd, 82nd/foul elf), which only briefly had difficulties with the defense bulwark of the Slovenes in the first half. With the gates, however, the German team increasingly gained security, the game temporarily determined at the same time. Nothing came from Slovenia in the second half of the game.

According to sports director Rudi Völler, the DFB team, according to sports director Rudi Völler, can already book the ticket for the KO round on Sunday. The opponent of the three-time European champion in the group final will be defending champion England next Wednesday. Against the English, the selection of coach Antonio di Salvo received their last defeat so far at the European Championship out 2023 almost two years ago.

The high-rise flight from Woltemade continued in front of around 2,700 spectators in Nitra at the U21 European Championship. After the cup victory with VfB Stuttgart and promoting to A international under national coach Julian Nagelsmann, the 1.98 meter tall offensive player also demonstrated his class against Slovenia. For all strains of the past few weeks: Woltemade really wants the tournament until June 28th in Slovakia.

This was also to be regarded by the technically experienced giant attack against the Slovenes, who for a long time presented themselves as the expected unpleasant opponent. Woltemade, who had only arrived at the beginning of this week because of the Nations League, had no starting difficulties in an intensive match with many duels, as was predicted by Di Salvo.

Before the lead goal, Woltemade initially served offensive colleague Nicolo Tresoldi, but the shot of the future Bruges professional was still heavily clarified by Slovenia’s keeper Martin Turk (19th). The lead goal developed from this: This time Tresoldi put on a head for Woltemade, who executed you ice cold by passionately defending Slovenian.

With the 1-0 in the back, Germany let her opponent come into play in the first competitive game duel of the two teams. The Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu saved his team as the winner in the one-against-one duel with TIO CIPOT (27th). Even in a free kick by Svit Seslar, number 1 was not surprising (39.).

Shortly before the break, Woltemade then steered the game after an outstanding solo of the Freiburg Max Rosenfelder with the 2-0 in the right way for the DFB. In the 3: 1 in the European Championship test in March against Spain, Woltemade had already set an exclamation mark with three goals.

After the German U21 had failed the tournament kick-off two years ago and left without winning after the preliminary round, things went differently this time. Tresoldi sniffed on 3-0 (59.) shortly before his replacement at FC Nitra Stadium. Woltemade then got this with a penalty-two years ago, the DFB team shot twice from the point in 1-1 against Israel.
