Traveler surprised in Kosice with his setup, in which Ian Maatsen did not act as a left back, but as a midfielder, which made a place available for Club Brugge player Bjorn Meijer. He hardly played for his club this season. The Groninger came to only 444 playing minutes, not even five full matches.

Spelritm was not an important criterion for traveler, because in midfield the Jong Oranje-Coach had reserved a base spot for Ajax midfielder Youri Regeer. After his transfer from FC Twente to Ajax, he only played 112 minutes for the main force of the Amsterdammers, but was allowed to appear at the kick -off.

That didn’t work out well. Reign was one of the young Orange players who fell through the ice in a shocking first half. Last Friday, the team of traveler had already shown in the so-called goodbye against Ivory Coast in personal mistakes and went on to the European Championships in that naive way.

The first chances had been before the Dutch Juniors via Noah Ohio, also another player who was mainly on the couch at his club, but the FC Utrecht striker was not on the focus. That sharpness was a problem with more youth internationals. The often very disappointing Ruben van Bommel against the Finns with a worthless pass gave the Finns the opportunity to counter against the Finns. Jorrel Hato still swore the danger, but then Ian Maatsen, who already played a Champions League final, made a genuine pupil error. The ball through the center of the Aston Villa player was picked up by the Finns, after which Casper Terho made it 1-0.

The tampering at the Dutch Juniors was not over yet, because immediately after the 1-0 lagged government too long and the Zandvoorter was simply walked off the ball. The Finnen countered razor sharp and Topi Keskinen made it 2-0.

The Dutch Juniors were very disappointed. Nobody had taken this into account after an error -free qualification phase and an impressive track record. Under the leadership of traveler, sixteen international matches were won thirteen times, twice and once lost, a practice match against Norway.

But in spite of all those nice figures, the Dutch Juniors had to be full in the chase within half an hour. Especially after the break, when reign was replaced by FC Groningen player Luciano Valente, who was initially not even selected and had to be recalled from his holiday address on Curacao, the chances of rain together. But Meijer, Million Manhoef, Kenneth Taylor, Van Bommel and Ryan Flamingo were unable to make great opportunities. The Valente, coveted by Feyenoord, succeeded, but after his connection goal, the offensive of the Dutch Juniors stopped. Only in injury time was another hole found and did Poku prevent a painful defeat: 2-2.
