The Italian clothing group OTB SPA is targeting the Mexican market.

In order to boost the expansion in the North American country, a local subsidiary in the capital Mexico City was founded last year, the group of companies said on Monday. The aim is to establish direct management in order to promote the development of the Group brands Diesel, Jil Sander, Marni and Maison Margiela. It is therefore planned to expand the inpatient and digital sales networks in Mexico and to strengthen marketing activities there.

The step is a part of the long -term group strategy, the focus of which is on “investments in direct sales channels”, according to a message. OTB wants to strengthen its own retail in existing markets, but also “open up new geographical regions in order to use opportunities in countries with high potential such as Mexico”.

According to the group of companies, the capital Mexico City is the focus of the investments. Through a partnership with the local retail group El Palacio de Hierro, OTB also wants to expand with inpatient stores and concession areas into other metropolises such as Guadalajara, Monterrey, León, Cancún, Puebla and Querétaro.
