Canada’s new swimming star has struck again: Summer Mcintosh has set up two new world records within three days.
Just three days after her world record over 400 meters freestyle, Summer Mcintosh struck again. At the Canadian trials in Victoria, the 18-year-old set up a new world’s best time over 200 meters.
In 2: 05.70 minutes, the Canadian remained well under the previous record of Katinka Hosszu on Monday (local time). The Hungarian had set up the record in 2015 in 2: 06.12 minutes.
“Overall, I am very satisfied with this time and always try to further increase,” said Mcintosh. Already on Saturday she had undercut the world record over 400 meters freestyle, on Sunday she had remained over 800 meters freestyle within reach of Katie Ledecky’s record.
For the 18-year-old, the strong idea was another step on the way to the World Cup in Singapore. The title fights take place from July 11th to August 3. “That gives me a lot of confidence for Singapore,” said Mcintosh.
