FC Copenhagen does not want to cooperate in a departure and announced this on Monday with an official press release. Wolfsburg has shifted this to the other top candidate Simonis.
The management of the Volkswagenclub is full for the trainer of Go Ahead Eagles and wants to complete his arrival in the short term. A delegation from VfL Wolfsburg and Go Ahead are around the table tomorrow to negotiate the transfer fee.

Earlier, FC Copenhagen trainer Jacob Neestrup was in the picture for the job at the Volkswagenclub, but according to sources in Denmark and Germany, Neestrup is unfeasible to VfL Wolfsburg, which has therefore shifted attention to the other top candidate Simonis.
Simonis already gave a presentation at Wolfsburg
Simonis recently confirmed that he gave a presentation at VFL Wolfsburg and is a candidate for the vacant trainers’ post at the Bundesliga club. Earlier, the Succestrainer of Go Ahead Eagles, who seized the KNVB Cup in his first season in Deventer with Go Ahead, also in the picture with West Bromwich Albion and Ajax.
Simonis recently extended his contract with Go Ahead until mid -2027, but that club is expected to remember a step up if he did not remember that to Wolfsburg. It does mean that Go Ahead loses a trainer for the second year in a row late in the summer and has to look for a replacement. Last season, Go Ahead René Hake saw leaving for Manchester United, where he became an assistant to Erik ten Hag, after which Go Ahead Simonis appointed as his successor.
