If you reach 150 years, it must be celebrated. They also found that at Muziekvereniging Somerens Lust: Saturday the streets of the village were flooded with more than 700 musicians from Someren and the surrounding area to celebrate the special anniversary.

“You don’t celebrate a musical party alone,” says Lieke de Lau, who is involved in the organization of the enormous procession. “That is why we have invited all kinds of friendly orchestras and orchestras from the rest of the country to participate in a musical parade, for Someren and the surrounding area. They came from all over the country, super fun!”

The colorful musical procession attracts a lot of attention. “Great,” says a man on the side. “Nice to see how different all those bands are. You always see a different style, a different decoration and you always hear different music. And it is all beautiful.”

A woman agrees: “It is very nice, very festive. The children also enjoy it. Who knows, they will also go to the fanfare later! I am not really musical, but I do know many people who are sitting at the fanfare. I really like it, all of Someren is involved.”

A man who wears a girl on the shoulders finds the parade impressive. “I didn’t know that there would be so much music to be seen here. Sometimes tight in the line, but some bands also loosely, I like that too.”

He gets support from a woman who looks at the parade with a girl. “Fantastic! We have looked at two different places, we can’t get enough of it. It is optimal enjoyment, and we are lucky that it is not raining!”

The Brabants Buske walked a bit in the procession on Saturday:
