A takeover candidate has been found for part of the bankrupt taxi company Van Gerwen. The company applied for bankruptcy at the end of May. Since then it was unclear whether a restart would be possible. Curator Floris Dix informed the staff on Friday afternoon that an agreement has been reached.
Part of the activities of Taxi van Gerwen will be taken over by Fassbender, a transport company that specializes in the rental of coaches. “We take over the student transport from Van Gerwen in Veldhoven, Heeze-Leende and Oirschot,” says owner Twan Fassbender enthusiastically.
Part of the vehicles and the taxi company staff also go to the new owner. Fassbender estimates that it is about 60 percent of the company in total.
“Staff can now decide for themselves whether they want to be employed by Fassbender.”
The employees of Van Gerwen were informed of the acquisition by e-mail by e-mail by e-mail by e-mail Floris Dix. “They can now decide for themselves whether they want to be employed by Fassbender. Everyone is free to make their own choice,” says Dix.
“It’s great what the staff does,” Dix expresses its appreciation. “They continue to work despite the bankruptcy. You notice that they are really involved in their work and that contributes to their motivation to continue.”
For Fassbender it is the first time that they take on taxi transport. Until now, the company was specialized in coach rental and transport, although it does have experience with passenger transport.
