Farat Toku has to wait for his first win as coach of the third division soccer team Viktoria Berlin.
On the 31st matchday, the promoted team lost 1:3 (0:1) at promotion candidates VfL Osnabrück and has a one-point lead over the first relegation zone. In front of 9363 spectators in the stadium on the Bremer Bridge, Lukas Kunze gave the oppressive hosts the lead after 31 minutes on Saturday, Soufian Benyamina scored the surprising equalizer for the Berliners after 64 minutes. Ten minutes later, the outstanding Aaron Opoku took the lead again, which Sven Köhler extended in the 83rd minute.
Toku had sent the eleven onto the field, which had also started in the catch-up game on Wednesday in the 0-0 win against FSV Zwickau.
The promoted team from Berlin left the initiative to the hosts and appeared in front of the Osnabrücker Kasten only three times in the first half. Osnabrück, on the other hand, pushed for the lead from the start, which Kunze scored from the left edge of the penalty area after a good half hour. Viktoria captain Christoph Menz deflected the ball with his hand, which was still untenable for Berlin goalkeeper Julian Krahl.
After the change of sides, Viktoria initially acted more courageously before Opoku intimidated the Berliners again with a shot at the post.
The equalizer was all the more surprising. Benyamina prevailed on the left wing and completed his fine individual performance with a shot into the far corner. With the equalizer in the back, Viktoria played cheekily again before Opoku, together with his fellow striker Marc Heider, initiated Osnabrück’s seventh home win. Koehler ended the game with a header after a corner.
