A 55-year-old man from Almelo was sentenced to an outsour with his then nearly 14-year-old second cousin during a ghost tour in Valthermond to an 80-hour work sentence. In addition, as a warning, a conditional prison sentence of one month was imposed.
The judge finds it proven that the man was sitting on her breasts and buttocks and kissed her on her mouth. During the trip in October 2023, the girl ran up to her mother. She told what had happened to her. While telling, she hardly came out of her words. The judge sees supporting proof of the event.
The suspect also admitted. He stood on a post with the girl during the trip. The child got cold, the man put an arm around her. He said he indeed kissed her.
The man could no longer remember the other, but that this happened, could well, he said. “This is not possible, this is not allowed,” he would have thought. He said he had been stupid, regretted and did not understand how this could happen.
Two weeks ago, the public prosecutor demanded a community service sentence of 80 hours and a two -week prison sentence. The judge blames the man for abusing trust as an great -uncle. He has not had an eye for the consequences for the child.
The incident happened in a dark and remote location. The much older man should have taken his responsibility, says the judge. A firmer stick behind the door, the judge finds more appropriate.
