The police have a picture of the man who would have stolen dozens of car mirrors in Eindhoven and the Kempen at the beginning of this year. It is not excluded that he has collaborated with others. The man was mainly concerned with mirrors of expensive car brands such as BMW, Porsche and Tesla. Video recordings on which he can be seen were distributed by the police on Thursday.
According to the police, more than 120 mirrors were stolen in February, March and April in Eindhoven and villages south of this. The damage runs in the thousands of euros. However, the number of declarations stops at forty. The police hope that the images will report more people and especially that the perpetrator can be found.
This is a slender man, who usually wore a blue jacket with hood, a backpack and black and white adidas shoes. The police also think he recognizes him on images in which he drives in a dark car with striking rims and seems to go on the thieves path again.
Experienced and fast
The images also show how experienced and fast the man works. He always knows how to remove mirrors from the housing during his nightly sealing rides. The police wonders what the man intends to do with his loot. Is it he to do the (sale of the) complete mirrors or the material that is incorporated into the mirrors?
A local police officer reported in March that the glass had been removed from various car mirrors in a few days in Veldhoven and Waalre. This happened with hybrid or electric cars. The agent called on being alert to people who behave suspiciously in cars.
You can get theft of car mirrors to a prison sentence. A 31-year-old man from Lithuania was given jail for a year in 2023 because he had stolen seventeen sets of car mirrors in Hilvarenbeek, Oirschot, Veghel and Vught.
