– The doctor said it was up to minutes. It would have been too long for ten minutes, the body would not have lasted anymore. In Matti Nykänen, the waiting time for the ambulance was 12 minutes and he had already died so far.

In the first weeks, Merilä doesn’t remember anything. He has heard afterwards that he was in the breathing machine as a bed patient.
His bile duct was blocked, which had caused severe pancreatitis over a long time.

When Merilä woke up the hoses around her hospital bed, there was a tough hustle and bustle.
– The doctor asked me if you understand Merilä where you were and what happened.
– I was just crazy that you wouldn’t get rid of me so easily.

The medication was strong and his weight had dropped 21 pounds during the hospital period. According to Merilä, the brain fog lasted in the monthly trade.
– I was paralyzed and I couldn’t even turn to my side. When the wife came to see me, I thought you wouldn’t look at me now. Even the speech could not be clear, Merilä says, and says he still has to get words sometimes.
For the first time, he got home for 2.5 months after his illness, but he and he had a fever and severe pain again and forced him to the hospital again.
Apparently, there is hardly anything left about Merilä’s pancreas.
The hospital is reminiscent of repeated horrible morning hours, when the men tortured the pains and frightening thoughts.
– The devil sat on his shoulder and whispered that my wife for the rest of my life was pushing me in a wheelchair. It’s good if I raised the juice cup at that point, Merilä says.

Four months of the illness, he woke up at night to the feeling of drowning.
– I called the clock and I was raised to sit. I got my breath, yawning that now I drown, goddamn. I had risen plasma fluid into the lungs and was emptied. At that point, I was wondering if I was a retriever now. I realized I was with some kind of watershed with their pain. I decided not to give up.
After -game
Merilä says that she has collected complications after pancreatitis. He has been removed 14 times with an observation operation with an inflamed blood mass. As a result, the stomach swells into a ball.
The last time such an operation was carried out in March, when it could have been cluttered again.
– During last year, a stent was placed between the small intestine and the stomach during the observation operation to run the blood plasma out through the stool. It didn’t help when the plasma solidified so quickly.
– Now the doctors decided to take the stent out the last time. Well, it had grown up and they had to tear it off properly. The stomach started to bleed and I had to stay in the hospital for monitoring.
At its worst, his inflammatory values were close to 900, compared to the optimum value of 5-7. Currently, according to Merilä, the inflammatory value is 10-12.
The entertainment was frightened last year when blood tests were noticed in the rising white blood cell values. He heard from doctors that it could be a sign of pancreatic cancer, whose risk increases after pancreatitis. The matter was taken for monitoring. Last day of the interview, he was taken in blood tests.
– Now the values have fallen to normal, he rejoices.
– When the pancreas is sprayed, it affects everything. Pancreatitis could also have resulted in renal failure or diabetes.
Different life
Merilä’s life has changed irreversibly. A stent was recently installed in his bile ducts, which keeps them open.
The reporter says he will take a digestive enzyme pill with every meal.
– My pancreatic no longer produces the enzymes that chop the food. Fortunately, I survived so easily.
Merilä adheres to a healthy lifestyle and strives for a stress -free lifestyle. Nor does he intend to drink a drop of alcohol anymore.

During the past month, Kai Merilä has had a spring in the chest. The joy of life has properly pulsated throughout the body and has found moments of gratitude in his everyday life.
