Suzan & Freek come a week after the all -changing diagnosis with an update: he started medication and how did he find out? “We went ‘for a moment’ to the doctor,” it sounds.
Eight days ago, Suzan & Freek provided a shock golf in our country by stating that they would immediately stop performing due to suddenly discovered lung cancer. The message arrived just after three concerts in the Ziggo Dome, the three who would follow last weekend were canceled. How are you now?
“We’re going to fight”
Suzan & Freek in a long message Know how they are doing now. “Surrounded by our dear friends and family, who have not let us go for a moment, we tried last week to give the tough blow a place, and to look together in this bizarre situation together.”
“It all still feels so unreal and frightening, because our image of ‘getting old together together’ is now suddenly not self -evident. We have decided to put our shoulders to the wheel together and to fight for it, we are going to do everything we can to become the exception !!
A cough
Freek now feels better. “Freek has since started the life -prolonging medication (luckily not chemo), to inhibit the cancer as much as possible, and has since feels a lot better physically.”
How did he find out? “After months of finally relieved of the cough (for which he ‘went’ to the doctor for a moment) and again a few healthy kilos. In a while we have investigated in the hospital again to check whether the medicines are catching on, if so, the situation can hopefully stay stable for a longer time.”
A few years
What is the diagnosis now? “Ultimately, the cancer cells will become resistant to the medicines in the long term, but there are people who have been able to move forward for several years, so we are holding on to that now! And in the meantime we hope very hard for a miracle.”
Suzan & Freek is currently focusing on their first child. “Fortunately, the pregnancy is doing well, so we are now focusing on that as much as possible, our greatest dream! Suus has now passed through the first trimester.”
Cravings
All focus is on the baby. “We laughed hard the last festivals & in the Ziggo Dome together to help the on-the-stage-shed crackers and other snacks, to help her through the cravings during the shows 🤤 The echoes so far look good (the baby bounces up and down), we are already picking it up our luck 🩷🩵” “
“We can’t wait to set up the baby room, just get through with all those great tips! We try to stay positive together and above all not to stop living. We have made music together every day and that feels so nice. We are not nearly ready !!! Thank you for all your love & lights ❤️❤️ Children
