How long has the Nations League existed among women?
In the UEFA calendar, the Nations League of women is a fairly new format. It took place for the first time in the 2023/24 season. The final tournament won Spain with a 2-0 against France. The DFB women won the game for third place with the same result against the Netherlands.
Who will take part in the Final Four this time?
The four group winners of the league A. have been qualified so far two teams: France and Germany. If two participating countries are still missing, the decision is made on Tuesday evening: Denmark and Sweden play for a place, Spain and England around the other.
How is played?
The semi-finals are drawn. There the countries compete against each other in the back and forth. The game is played between October 22nd and 28th. The winners are qualified for the final. The inferior teams play for third place.
Finale and game for third place take place between November 26 and December 2.
Why doesn’t the women Four of women take place parallel to that of men?
This is due to the UEFA calendar. The men’s final Four takes place in June – but there is no EM or World Cup this summer. It’s different for women. For them, the European Championship in Switzerland begins at the beginning of July, where Germany meets Poland, Denmark and Sweden in the preliminary round.

On Friday evening, the DFB women won 4-0 against the Netherlands in Bremen. The team of national coach Christian Wück prematurely as the winner of group A1 – and as a participant in the final Four.
Why is the Nations League so important among women?
Unlike men, there is an immediate connection between the performance in the Nations League and the qualification for the next European or World Cup.
The qualification for EM and World Cup is not played in groups for women, it takes place in leagues. The following applies: the better a country in the Nations League cuts, the better the starting point for the next qualification tournament for EM or World Cup.
