The airship Goodyear Blimp Celebrate 100 years. A very important anniversary for the iconic aerostatic aircraft. To celebrate this anniversary there will be a journey on the skies of a city of theOhio During the week. The company based in Akron had made the inaugural flight of the first historian Blimp, known as Pilgrimjust the June 3, 1925after starting to experiment with lighter means of planes already in the early twentieth century. The airship has become one of the best known and recognized brands in the world of the whole company from that moment. Today there are four Goodyear Blimpof which three in the United States of America And One in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The current models are semi -rigid New Technology, in use since 2014, which allow better maneuverability and speed. The Blimp is 75 meters long And high 18inside it has a quantity of helium equal to the measure of three Olympic swimming pools. Goodyear gets the helium for its airships from different sources and purifies it every six to eight weeks to extend its life. The Blimp is in flight for More than 100 days a yearwith trips that can last from three days to three weeks.
