After Cafeteria Ceder on the Rembrandt gallery in Roosendaal was closed last week due to an explosion, a second catering business has now also been closed in the same street. The mayor decided that on Monday, because ‘several violent incidents’ happened last weekend.
It is unclear which matter it is. On Friday, another catering establishment at the Rembrandt gallery, cafeteria cedar, was closed for two weeks after a fire bomb went off that night.
The new violent incidents on the Rembrandt gallery took place last weekend at an opposite catering establishment. According to the mayor, it is about various incidents, whereby fireworks may also have been used.
Over -risk
According to the mayor, the risk of recurrence and the danger for the environment is too great. The restaurant has therefore been closed since Monday. That is not a punishment for the owner, but a protective measure for the environment, according to the municipality.

“I understand very well that it is a serious matter for the entrepreneur if his company is closed,” responds deputy mayor Evelien van der Start. “In a few days we see an ascending escalation of the events. I am really concerned with the safety and safety feeling of the local residents and the other entrepreneurs on the Rembrandt gallery.”
The municipality is waiting for the results of the police investigation. Based on this, it is decided how long the closure will take. The municipality expects to announce that Tuesday.
