A man ended up in the canal next to the Gabriel Metsulaan in Eindhoven on Saturday night with his electric Mercedes EQE. This happened after a dollar ride through the city. According to the police, the driver had drunk too much.
In the Dirk Boutslaan, the motorist had driven several concrete blocks and dragged these dozens of meters on the road. Other vehicles were then able to avoid the concrete blocks.
Wet suit
He then turned into the Gabriel Metsulaan by car, towards the canal. On the T-junction with the Kanaaldijk-Zuid, the car man drove straight into the water.
A passing cyclist saw the driver swimming in the channel and helped him get to the side. The motorist had no more than a wet suit on the crash.
The motorist was arrested and taken by the police.
Concrete blocks
The rammed concrete blocks were removed from the road with the help of a tap. The crashed car is tackled from the channel.
