Mick Schumacher is driving for Alpine’s long -distance team. Could he come to the F1 racing team? Flavio Briatore was interviewed.

Flavio Briatore did not want to get involved in speculation at the press conference at the Grand Prix of Spain. Most recently, Mick Schumacher was discussed in Formula 1-in connection with Briatores Alpine team. The German is currently driving there in the long-distance World Cup.

When asked about the rumors, Briatore reacted visibly annoyed. He did not understand the question, said the 75-year-old, and added: “I don’t think that is the question of asking here. Next question. I don’t want to talk about it.” The Italian was also scarce on other topics.

The trigger of the Schumacher rumors was another personnel topic at Alpine: Franco Colapinto, who has only been in the cockpit for two races, could soon be replaced. Briatore said: “If Colapinto performs, then he drives the car, if not, then we will see.” He does not know whether Colapinto finish the season. “2025 is the year in which we prepare for 2026. Which experiment I think is correct, we will do that,” said Briatore.

Despite the currently difficult location – Alpine is the penultimate in the design classification – Briatore is still ambitious. He announced the newspaper “Le Monde” to want to win victories in 2026. A year later, the team around the World Cup should ride.

In Barcelona, he did not repeat this announcement literally, but left no doubt about his claim. “With Benetton we were down, then we won titles, with Renault we were below, then we won titles,” said Briatore: “If I think we were not competitive in 2027, I would rather be on the beach and would drink a cola.”

Briatore had returned to Alpine as chief consultant last summer. After the resignation of the previous team leader Oliver Oakes in early May, the Italian is now also taking over his tasks.
