The 41-year-old Heitinga is a former Ajax player. In addition, he was also a youth trainer, trainer of Young Ajax and just head coach. In January 2023 he was appointed after the resignation of Alfred Schreuder.
Ajax’s new head coach is being taken over from Liverpool. As an assistant coach of Arne Slot, he managed to conquer the national title there. Keizer is currently not affiliated with a club.
Heitinga and Keizer have previously worked together. In the 2016/2017 season they were on the bench at Young Ajax. At the time, Keizer was ultimately responsible and Heitinga was his assistant.
