Even more residents of villages at Blatten must prepare for evacuation after collapse of glacier

Now that the River Lonza is blocked by a meter -high wall of ice and rocky lot and the artificial lake that originated, the population of the Swiss villages of Steg and Gampel is prepared for rapid evacuation. The inhabitants are asked to arrange a temporary place of residence outside the valley. The municipalities of Steg-Hohtenn and Gampel-Brasen report this in the Canton Wallis on their website.
