In a few weeks, the German team will be hunted again. After an unfortunate final 2022, the triumph is now to be found.

In July, 16 teams fight for the European Championship – including defending champion England, world champion Spain and record winner Germany. The DFB women were able to arrive the title eight times since the premiere in 1984, and were most recently entitled to England in 2022 in the final (1: 2). Now the team wants to attack at the tournament in Switzerland (July 2 to 27).

In the group phase, feasible opponents are waiting for Germany. In Group C, the team of national coach Christian Wück starts the tournament on July 4 against EM debutant Poland (9 p.m.). Four days later, DFB captain Giulia Gwinn and Co. meet the neighbors from Denmark (6 p.m.). The Danish women were already at the past European Championship in the German group and received a bitter 0: 4 defeat.

In the third group game on July 12th, the supposedly heaviest opponent is: the table sixth of the FIFA world rankings from Sweden (9 p.m.).

If Germany ends the group phase in first or second place, the selection qualifies for the knockout round. In the round of 16, a nation from the strongly occupied group D would continue. There, Germany could meet defending champion England, the Netherlands or France. EM newcomer Wales would also be an option. The quarter -finals with a possible German participation will take place on July 17th and 19th.

The groups at a glance:

Only in the semi -finals could Germany meet after a progress to a nation of group A or B. The games will be held on July 22nd and 23rd. The kick -off is at 9 p.m. The final in Basel will increase on July 27th at 6 p.m.
