The men of the Amsterdam hockey club AH & BC are the best in the country again after no less than thirteen years. Via Shoot-Outs the club won against title holder Kampong from Utrecht. And that while the team from Amsterdam only just escaped relegation last season.
That they would win seemed unlikely in the beginning. In the first game, the club had to deal with a 4-3 defeat. But they managed to make up for that by winning the second game and the shoot-outs, with 2-1 and 6-5 respectively.
With today’s winning, it is the 22nd national title for the Amsterdammers. This means that the club is now at the top together with HC Bloemendaal. It is only the first national title since 2012. In the regular season, Amsterdam finished in third place.
