Future of BVB goalkeeper Kobel probably clarified

At Borussia Dortmund, Gregor Kobel is one of the top performers – is courted by other clubs. Now the Swiss is said to have made his future decision.
Due to a strong catch-up, Borussia Dortmund fought for fourth place in the Bundesliga on the last Bundesliga matchday and thus qualified for the Champions League. With this certainty, BVB can now plan for the coming season in peace – and the first personnel decision seems to be made.
According to a report by the “picture”, Gregor Kobel is said to have decided to remain in Dortmund. The Swiss has been associated with Chelsea FC for months. With Newcastle United, another club is said to have had the national goalkeeper on the wish list. Despite the interest from the Premier League, Kobel now remains loyal to BVB.
“The trainer (note: Niko Kovač) did a great job. I think the team also accepted it outstandingly,” said Keeper Kobel after the season finale. “We have grown together more and more and did the processes in the game more and more fluently and then simply performed well.” Kobel now wants to continue this development with the team at the club World Cup (from June 14th to July 13th in the USA). There the club meets in the group phase on Fluminense (Brazil), Ulsan HD (South Korea) and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).
Kobel came to Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2021 for 15 million euros. Since then he has played 212 games for BVB and stayed 52 times without conceding. His contract runs until June 30, 2028.
