When they wanted to beautify the canteen with a photo wall that should depict the rich history of the club, the volunteers stood for a dilemma. There was room for 125 photos, neatly divided into 25 photos per sport. How do you do justice to the rich club history if you are forced to ignore hundreds of old photos from the archive?

Erik Bouman laughs a bit. “Then we secretly gave the photos that we were on ourselves,” he says, standing in front of the photo wall. He points out a team photo. “Here I am in leisure clothing on the side. Then I was a supervisor of the football team in which Roy played, while I am only six years older.”

Formerly players, now volunteers

Now, more than forty years later, Erik is again next to Roy (Thoolen). The two still know each other from the past, from the training sessions and competitions, but also from the recent collaboration, as volunteers of our companions. Bert Suidgeest, a few years older than Erik, also connects. Of the 100 years that the club has been from Haarlem-Noord, this trio has at least half experienced live.
