Marwin Bolz found a new task after his farewell to the HSV footballers. The Hamburg’s promotion coach takes over the Portuguese Top Club Sporting Clube de Braga and can dream of the Champions League participation with his new club.

As the third in the table of the past season in the Camponato Nacional Feminino announced on Monday, Bolz receives a contract until 2027. He follows at SC Braga, according to the club’s short form, on Miguel Santos, which lay down the position.

“I want to give the club, the team and the players the necessary self -confidence to fully exploit the potential,” said Bolz when it was noted. The 27-year-old has to reorganize the team after the departure of ten players, but despite some personnel question marks, has very clear ideas about how his new team should act: “We want to be a team that acts with speed and determination, accepts every duel situation and controls the game.”

Contract at the HSV despite great success not extended

Bolz had led the HSV to the Bundesliga as the third in the table in the past season and surprisingly reached the semi-finals of the DFB Poklal with the team. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old’s contract, who had been responsible for the Hamburg women since 2023, was not extended. Together one came to the decision “that it is time for a change for both sides in summer,” said HSV.

As the successor to Bolz, the club recently presented the Brazilian Liése Brancao from SKN St. Pölten. Now Bolz has also found a new task and immediately a clear goal: to move into the Champions League group phase. To do this, the young coach with the Iberians must survive three qualification rounds.
