Ten different parties have won permits to broadcast from 1 September 2025 to 2035 to FM and DAB with regional (non-national) commercial radio stations. This is Radio Limburg 97FM, GLXY Radio, Regional Radio Frequency, GPR Networks, Blended Broken Beats, Tida, Radio JND, Radio Simone, Masalsa Foundation and Radika Foundation. They have one or more permits to broadcast.
Minister Beljaarts (Economic Affairs) announced the results of this radio auction today. A total of 27 regional packages were available that raised 5.56 million euros.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs auctions radio frequencies if there is more supply than supply. In this way, both existing parties and interested newcomers get an equal chance to get a place in the market. The National Inspectorate for Digital Infrastructure (RDI) carries out the auction on behalf of the Ministry.
In 2023, the national commercial radio permits were already auctioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. A non-national auction will follow from 10 June 2025. Then 44 separate digital regional permits are available. These are so-called ‘dab-only’ permits that are still over for non-national commercial use after the composition of the packages.
