The press conference after the DFB Cup final was quickly ended. The Stuttgart players picked up coach Sebastian Hoeneß to celebrate.
At the press conference after the DFB Cup final won, coach Sebastian Hoeneß didn’t have much time. While he spoke to journalists, VfB players had made their way to him. Armed with champagne and beer, the newly baked DFB cup winners stormed the podium and splashed their stunned coach. Hoeneß, who had explained the VfB cup coup for around seven minutes, grabbed the golden trophy and stretched it again before the journalist before disappearing into the Berlin party night.
“So, demolish! Have a nice evening, we are gone,” said the Swabian success coach after the 4: 2 (3: 0) victory in the final against third division champion Arminia Bielefeld as the last words. After the party marathon in the capital, it continues in Stuttgart on Sunday.
The team is expected there at 1.30 p.m. at the airport. Mayor Frank Nopper then receives the team in the town hall including entry in the Golden Book. Around 3:30 p.m., Hoeneß and Co. drive through the city with a car corso before the big cup celebration increases with up to 35,000 fans on the Schlossplatz.
