Jacqueline Govaert from Kaatsheuvel won the Buma Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday. We know her as the singer of Krezip and this award is a crown on all her musical work. “Not to be believed, what an honor,” Jacqueline writes on Instagram under a video on which she is surprised.

Unsuspectingly, Jacqueline is meeting on Friday with Krezip when she is surprised. Colleague Annelies could supposedly not be at the meeting. When Annelies comes in anyway, with a camera crew and a confetti cannon, Jacqueline is shocked. “Well Jacq, we are here for you. We have come to surprise you so come and stand with me,” laughs Annelies.

Annelies and Jacqueline give each other a big hug before the award is handed over. The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded every year to a composer who has performed exceptionally and long -term. Earlier Boudewijn de Groot, Pierre Kartner, Ilse DeLange and Within Temptation received this award.

This year Jacqueline can receive the Award. She once started with recorder and in 1997 she founded the band Krezip. Hits as ‘I would stay’ and ‘Sweet Goodbyes’ Made the band a great success. In addition to singing, Jacqueline also plays the piano and writes songs herself.
