According to the sharp government criticism of rock legend Bruce Springsteen during his European tour, Donald Trump strikes X (formerly Twitter)-with a golf ball and a video that looks more like internet memes than on presidential material.
It is not the first time that Springsteen announces his opinion of Trump: Springsteen, who had already been “mentally ill” for the president last year. That doesn’t let him sit on him.
What happened before: Springsteen denounced “treacherous government”
Bruce Springsteen has published a new EP with live recordings of its “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour through Europe. At a concert in Manchester, England, the musician, according to “Deadline”, refrained from naming Trump, but nevertheless made it unequivocally clear who he says: “He has a corrupt, incompetent and treacherous government.”
In his speech, Springsteen appealed to the audience: “Tonight we ask everyone who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience: get up with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let the freedom sound.”
He also described Trump as an “unsuitable president” who runs a “renegade government”. In an urgent warning to democracy, Springsteen said: “The last control of power, when all checks and balances have failed, are people – you and me. It is due to the unity of people a common canon of values - this is now everything that is between democracy and authoritarianism.”
Trump strikes back with video and insult tirade
Just a few hours after the EP was published, Donald Trump shared a video on his X-Canal. In it he can be seen on the golf discount – the ball hits the jumping steen on the head on average. According to “Deadline”, the satirical representation is considered a direct attack on the musician.
But it didn’t stay with the video. Trump personally insulted Springsteen and called him “a hip plum of a rocker.” In addition, Trump threatened to initiate an investigation against jumping steels because this publicly supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election campaign. Other prominent supporters Harris’ could therefore also be targeted, such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bad Bunny and Oprah.
Trump continued to go against Bruce Springsteen and ex-President Joe Biden on the Truth platform: “I never liked him, didn’t like his music, his radical left-wing politics anyway-and what is more important: he is not a talented guy. Only an intrusive, annoying idiot who has eagerly supports the corrupt Joe Biden-a mentally not designable trottel– And one of our worst presidents who almost destroyed our country. So that wasn’t enough, he still described Springsteen as “completely overrated”, and “stupid as bread”, because the musician would have no idea what’s going on.
Support from Neil Young – criticism of Trump is growing
Musician Neil Young defended Springsteen on Tuesday, May 20, in an open statement on his website. He turned directly to Trump and wrote: “Stop thinking about what rock musicians say. Better think about how you can save America out of the mess that you have done. Taylor Swift is right. Bruce too. You know how I think about it. You are more concerned about yourself than about America.”
Taylor Swift also got into the President’s crossfire after she had also spoken out for Kamala Harris. Trump reacted to her political attitude with a derogatory commentary Truth, in which he wrote that she was no longer “hot” – an attempt to publicly downgrade her.
