British boxer Georgia O’Connor has died at the age of 25 after fighting cancer, reported his promotional company Boxxer Thursday.

O’Connor said last year on social media that he had a diagnosed ulcerative colitis in which the abnormal reactions of the immune system cause inflammation and ulcers on the internal surface of the colon.

CNN’s According to, O’Connor said he had to go to the bathroom 15-20 times a day and suffer from unbearable intestinal cramps.

In January, O’Connor wrote on Instagram that he was diagnosed with cancer. His mother founded a fundraising page for her daughter, where she wrote that cancer was rare and aggressive, which doctors considered incurable.

O’Connor announced that it had gone on May 12th to marry his partner Adrianon with and changed their last name to a Cardinal.

During his boxing career, O’Connor won gold in the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games. He became a professional in 2021 and won all three of his professional matches. O’Connor’s last match was in October 2022.
