Wizthemc has been making music for years. His first album was released in 2018. In February 2025, however, he shared “Show Me Love” – the song went on Tikok Viral without further ado and now he was released again with a feature by Tyla. But who is the musician who may have already delivered the track of summer?
1. In the world at home
Sanele Sydow, as Wizthemc is called, was born in South Africa in 1999. When he was still a toddler, his family moved to Lüneburg with him two years later. There he spent his childhood and youth, but for a long time it didn’t seem to keep him in Germany. In 2017 he moved to Canada alone to start an international career as an artist. But music already played a role in his life. In 2015 he founded a band with friends and they played together under the name No Homes for two years. After that he continued to make music and even sang in German at the beginning.
2. Where does the artist name come from?
Without knowing what an MC is or who is at Wiz Khalifa, the Lüneburger, named Wizthemc, registered on various social media platforms. How suitable that he later became rapper.
3. The first career steps on the American continent
Arrived in Toronto, Wiz devoted himself to his music. In the Canadian metropolis, he recorded the first albums such as Backin Toronto and Blessings in Disguise and several EPS under his own NHMS Records label. Although he was initially skeptical about music labels and hugged many prejudices, at some point he signed at 10k projects in Los Angeles. In 2021 his song “For A Minute” was released, which brought him greater attention for the first time. Later the track became part of the Netflix film “He’s All That”.
4. Back to the German Roots
In 2021, Wizthemc, at least musically, went to Germany again. Together with Majan, he published the English-German song “Catch Me”. A little later, Wiz also accompanied the rapper on his tour. In the meantime, he has left Toronto and Los Angeles behind and is currently living in Berlin.
5. What is his music about?
Topics that cannot be heard in your songs are love, growing up and mental health – and as in real life, the aspects are involved. So it says on his track “Song”: “And You Know How Feel / You Broke Open My Veil / I’m Too Broke to Reveal / How I Could Love You Again” (in German: “And you know how I feel / you have torn my veil tore / I am to broke to reveal / how I could love you again“). In 2022, he described the message of his own music as follows in the ME interview:” I want to say: Feel what you feel without evaluating without you. “
6. How does the whole thing sound?
Wizthemc’s music sounds very like Pop, especially his newer songs. Even if the lyrics sometimes sound a little sad, they are mostly combined with summer beats. Nevertheless, it cannot be ignored that he himself is a big rap listener. “I love pop, but I come from the rap. Then I thought to myself, I want to connect both. I want to bring pop fans to rap and bring rap fans to pop. And combined the best of the two worlds,” said the 26-year-old in an interview with “Barracuda Music”.
7. What is currently going on at Wizthemc?
At the beginning of 2025, the musician released the song “Show Me Love”. After only a short time, the sound went steeply on Tikkok and became an early summer hit on the Internet. In the meantime, the music video for the track is over 17 million views. No wonder that Tyla, who also comes from South Africa, takes over the feature part at the re-release for “Show Me Love”. Thanks to the Collab, Wiz even had a guest appearance at Tylas Show at this year’s Coachella Festival. As the 26-year-old shared in a current Instagram post, he was recently awarded the Breakthrough Award of the official German charts.
The current album by Wizthemc, where Silence Feels Good, was released in 2022. Nevertheless, he has repeatedly published singles over the past few years. It is currently still unclear when you can count on a larger project by the artist. On Instagram, however, WIZ keeps posting photos from studio sessions and recently revealed in a comment under one of his contributions that he would work on new music.
