Despite missing the title, Fararoli proudly looks back on the past season. “Receiving the respect and support of the Ajax audience, which we felt throughout the season, meant a lot to me and my staff. Together we experienced incredible and unforgettable moments; a unique, intense, emotional season in which we shared faith, fighting spirit and pride and ultimately achieved our goal and completed the mission.”
‘Very unfortunate’
“I think this is a great pity,” responds technical director Alex Kroes. “Francesco and his staff helped us enormously. It was a very intensive season with many beautiful memories, where we achieved our objective: coming out again in the Champions League next season. In addition, Francesco played a major role in improving top sport culture within Ajax. We are also very grateful for that.”
An important transfer summer is now on the agenda for Ajax. In addition to selling superfluous players with a high salary from the failure time and attracting new players, a new head coach must now also be searched for. “It would already be a challenging transfer summer, but it is now becoming even more challenging. It is up to us to ensure that there is another good technical staff for the group if the preparation for the new season starts on 26 June.”
