A few weeks ago, PSV has everything in its own hands for the championship in the Eredivisie a few weeks ago. Also at Kusters Logistics, the company that took care of the flat cart of PSV, they are surprised that they were allowed to build again after the game against Heracles Almelo. “It’s getting monotonous.”
Last Sunday, after the Comeback from PSV against Feyenoord, employees of Kusters Logistics were already carefully flirting with the Eindhoven club. “I applied to PSV after the game:” I will already drive the cart outside, “says an employee jokingly. Yet they still had to be patient.
After the midweek victory over Heracles Almelo, PSV gave the go -ahead and they could go. The abrupt advance towards the title gives the logistics company no stress, because they have been doing this for more than 25 years. “It’s getting monotonous,” laughs Mike Schoonenberg, who has been working on the flat cart for twenty years.
Day -task
The two builders started on Thursday morning with a bare trailer, who normally uses the company for their logistics services. The intention is that the cart will be prepared in one day. “We are wearing a day’s task. The cart must be provided with an elevation on which the players can stand. Also a railing for safety and cladding on the side, on which PSV stickers and banners are confirmed.”
Fans don’t have to worry that the flat kill will not be on time in Eindhoven on Monday for a possible championship. “Although we have to work until late, the cart is coming,” says Roy van der Zanden, manager of Kusters Logistics.
Huge honor
Kusters Logistics is a Eindhovens family business, where only PSV fans work. It is therefore a huge honor for everything and everyone to be able to work on the flat cart of their club for years. “Building the cart for the most beautiful club in the Netherlands, what more do you want,” says Schoonenberg proudly. “Not every PSV fan can say that he regularly cooperates in the championship cart.”
It also remains cool for Van der Zanden. “It is an honorary job, especially because we have been able to do it for so long. It is unique in the Netherlands, since PSV is the only club with a flat cart driving through the city. We are planning our boys with all love and pleasure for it.”
They don’t think about a doom scenario for Sunday at Kusters Logistics. “I have every confidence in a good outcome. I just don’t see them losing,” says Schoonenberg firmly. “And if so, we will break things down again. It is part of it. We have had to do that more often in the past. Whether or not the champion: it has never been for nothing. We get satisfaction from this. But let’s go out of the best for Sunday.”
