On Tuesday (May 13th), the Los Angeles public prosecutor officially presented the criminal complaint against Jillian Lauren Shriner in court. The indictment refers to an incident of April 8, when the bestselling author and wife by Weezer-Bassist Scott Shriner was injured by the police after she is said to have targeted the officials with a weapon. Now she had to appear in court. She used this to assert her innocence on site – she is subject to an attempted murder because she supposedly did not want to drop the weapon even after several request.
The background of the indictment
What had happened: According to the press release of the Los Angeles Police Department, the search in the Eagle Rock district began the previous Monday afternoon around 3:25 p.m. when the California Highway Patrol asked for support in the search for three suspects in a serious accident with a driver’s flight. One of the suspects was on foot in a residential area, whereupon the police locked the surroundings.
During the ongoing search, Lauren came out of her house – according to previous knowledge without a connection to the original incident – and wore a firearm. According to police, Lauren several times ignored the emergency services of the emergency services to take off their weapon, and is said to have finally addressed the officials. The police then opened the fire and met them on their shoulders. Lauren retired to her apartment, but stood together around 30 minutes later together with her babysitter of the police. Both women were initially arrested.
After medical treatment in the hospital, Lauren was charged with an absence for attempted murder. The police made it clear that it was not in connection with the original driver’s flight incident. One of the three alleged causes of the accident has now been arrested, two more are still fleeting.
Over a month until the next hearing
According to the “Los Angeles Times”, Lauren now advocated “not guilty” in court. The indictment is among other things on intentional and grossly negligent shot and attack with a semi -automatic weapon. In addition, criminal offenses are sought due to the use of a firearm. In the event of a conviction, she threatens up to 19 years in prison. The next hearing is scheduled for June 18.
