BVB relies on the left outside player Daniel Svensson (23) in the long term. The Swede, which was previously only loaned by FC Nordsjaelland, will be committed for the coming season and receives a contract until 2029, as the Dortmund confirmed on Wednesday. For this purpose, Borussia pulled a purchase option agreed in the loan agreement with the Danish club, which was estimated in past media reports to 6.5 million euros.
According to reports, the clause should automatically grab as soon as Svensson has completed 15 games for the black and yellow. This was achieved with his efforts against Leverkusen (4: 2) thanks to eleven Bundesliga and four Champions League games. Both clubs did not confirm whether the option was actually linked to this number of games.
“Daniel fully met our expectations from day one,” said sports director Sebastian Kehl. “He arrived quickly and enriched our team directly with its performance. Its intensity and flexibility go very well with our game and give us many options. On top of that, Daniel is also a good type and an exemplary professional. For us it was therefore logical that we are now binding it to Borussia Dortmund.”
