Carlo Ancelotti becomes the new national coach of Brazil. “Together we will write new glorious chapters in Brazilian football,” said Association President Ednaldo Rodrigues on Monday in the course of an official message. The 65-year-old is scheduled to take up his new position in two weeks. The World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay are pending for Seleção in early June.
Ancelotti’s contract initially has validity until the World Cup 2026. This means that Real Madrid is free for Xabi Alonso. The trainer of Bayer Leverkusen, once a professional with the Madrilenen, has long been traded as the hottest successor to Ancelotti. In Leverkusen, where Alonso 2024 won the double from the championship and DFB Cup, he has already been adopted. Alonso is said to look after the club world championship in the United States on June 15, as the Spanish sports newspaper “Marca” reported. There is still no official confirmation for his new job in Madrid.
There have recently been many rumors and reports about Ancelotti’s engagement in Brazil. He had actually been supposed to train the Seleção from summer last year, but then decided to be real.
