The process around the so -called Snapchat murder will resume on Monday in the court of Breda. Before the judge is the woman who would have had her own father killed or possibly killed herself. Why Gradus Haisch had to die is still not clear.
Gradus Haisch was a 58-year-old pigeon fancier from Bergen op Zoom. On March 24, 2023, the police found his body at an abandoned farm on the Julianaweg, in the outskirts of Wouwse Plantage. Strangely enough, that was next to the shed where the torture container once stood. But there was no connection with that. The body of Haisch was heavily stacked.
Mobile phones
A investigation team was set up with the Codenaam Venus. The police investigation soon led to a breakthrough. Agents arrested the daughter of Gradus and her friend. When detectives investigated their cell phones, they came across all kinds of suspicious chat messages, also on Snapchat. According to the police and the judiciary, it became clear that the couple was preparing the murder of Gradus for a long time.
There were interim sessions prior to the process. The striking thing was that only the male suspect Jeroen L. appeared in the courtroom. As far as is known, the woman never showed herself. Allegedly because she couldn’t handle that.
Relation
The sessions created the image that Jeroen and Gradus’ daughter had a relationship that Dad could not accept. For example, there was an age difference. He was already halfway through 30 and she just 20 years old. There seemed to be a motif. But that image was not complete because the daughter did not explain anything.
When her process came closer at the end of the last, something unexpected happened. Just before the session, she fired her lawyer. That meant that she had to look for a new lawyer and that she did not appear in court again. Her case was postponed.
Imprisonment
Her friend Jeroen’s lawsuit continued. Jeroen L. (37) denied in the seat that he was the perpetrator. He pointed to Gradus’s daughter. But the court ruled differently and saw enough evidence that the couple cooperated: the verdict shows that the murder has been planned and committed by both the man and the woman.
Bergenaar Jeroen L. was sentenced to 20 years in prison from the court, after a 22 -year requirement. That prison sentence is also the daughter (22) above the head.
Her trial serves on Monday and Wednesday before the court in Breda. This lawsuit is done by three other judges.
The chance that the female suspect will not show up again is small. She is now obliged to come, the court reports. Possibly she can finally shed more light on the events of more than two years ago in the outskirts of Wouwse Plantage. But also the chats between her and Jeroen and the most importantly: the motive. Why did Gradus have to die?
