Energy Cottbus and coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz have suspended players Maximilian Krauss. This does not want to leave the allegations made.
Maximilian Krauss has defended himself against the allegations of coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz after his suspension at Energie Cottbus. The 28-year-old reacted with clear words to statements from his coach. “I am shocked by the baseless statements of my trainer,” said Krauss of the Lausitzer Rundschau. At the same time, he thanked the fans for their support in the past 15 months.
Shortly before the explosive third division duel between Energie Cottbus and Hansa Rostock, Krauss had signed a contract with the direct competitor-a change that caused unrest internally. Wollitz reacted with a suspension until the end of the season. The energy coach brought the last declining performance of the offensive player related to his agreement with Rostock.
The time of the contract signature in particular has annoyed him, said Wollitz. “I find the time on Monday disrespectful to the employer Cottbus. I find it disrespectful towards the teammates,” he said at the press conference on Thursday. In a conversation, Krauss confirmed that the agreement with Hansa had already made weeks ago.
The game on Saturday (kick-off: 2 p.m.) between Cottbus and Rostock is not only of particular explosiveness because of the change of cray-it is also about the relegation place. Rostock is in fourth place with 60 points, Cottbus follows fifth with 59 points. Only the winner of the encounter keeps realistic opportunities in the promotion race. In addition to the missed ascent, a fifth place would also result in the end in the DFB Cup.
