The globally popular streaming portal YouTube is apparently broadcast the NFL game in Brazil at the start of the new season worldwide and free of charge.
As “The Athletic” reported on Thursday, the streaming portal of the search engine giant Google is a high favorite to the transfer of this year’s NFL game in São Paulo/Brazil, which will take place on the first Friday (night on Saturday, 6th September) of the season, i.e. an evening after the Season Opener.
It is already known that the Los Angeles Chargers will be the designated home team this year. The game will be played in the Corinthians Arena and the opponent will be announced next Tuesday together with all international pairings of the 2025 NFL season.
The big difference to the TV deals of the other streaming providers in the USA -Prime Video shows Thursday Night Football from week 2 and Netflix as in the previous year, as in the previous year, two games at Christmas -it should be that YouTube shows the game free of charge and worldwide, although Netflix ‘transmissions are also broadcast worldwide.
NFL: schedule 2025 approaches
An official announcement of this partnership is expected for the coming week, especially since the so -called “Upfronts” will take place in the USA. In the week, the TV stations present their program highlights of the upcoming TV season. Accordingly, all networks will announce their highlight NFL games of the year in the course of the week before the official schedule of the schedule on Thursday (2 a.m. CET).
What Google will pay for the Brazil game is still unclear. However, there is already a collaboration between the NFL and Google via the TV platform “YouTube TV”, through which you can move into the “Sunday Ticket” in the USA, with which all games can be seen in the two early Sunday-time slots.
This deal costs Google around $ 14 billion over seven years. Last year the game in São Paulo ran between the Eagles and Packers (34:29) at the streamer “Peacock” from NBC Universal. This service paid for around $ 105 million for this one game, which was only shown there in the United States.
