The Löwen Braunschweig made the play-off participation perfectly with a 67:48 (27:30) success at the Rostock Seawolves on the penultimate match day of the BBL main round. The Mecklenburger, in turn, set a negative record.

No home team has scored fewer points this season. The Rostockers started their last home game of the main round, but then subsided. The Seawolves thus conceded the 15th defeat in the 31st game. The best thrower of the hosts was Nijal Pearson with eleven points. Sananda Fru marked 16 points for the lions.

While the third in the table from Lower Saxony already secured the play-off participation (from May 17th) before his last game on Sunday (4.30 p.m.), the eight-placed Seaawolves need a win at the BG Göttingen relegated to at least reach the play-ins (from next Tuesday).

Seaawolves only in the first quarter at the height

The team of head coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz caught a furious start, in the meantime led with eleven points. After Pedro Bradshaw’s threesome to 27:16 in the middle of the second section, the game tipped over. Rostock no longer got the ball in the Lower Saxony basket and fell behind after a 0: 14 run until the break.

After the change of sides, the lions continued to dominate the action in the town hall and increased to 36:27. The Seawolves were now completely off the role, and only marked eight points in the third quarter. So the truly not convincing Braunschweigers didn’t have to do much to win the 19th win of the season.
