In 2010, Tina Nijkamp was sick of her Center Parcs holiday home. The reason? As SBS 6 boss, she saw with a sorrow how RTL 4 conquered the country with the hijacked Holland’s Got Talent.

It is the most fanatic channel boss that SBS 6 has ever had: Tina Nijkamp. If her husband wanted to watch All You Need Love on Christmas Eve, she stuck her own channel logo over that of RTL 4. She did everything to make her own station the favorite, so she literally had to cry in 2010 when the competitor triumphed.

Tears in eyes

Tina had just refused the new TV idea The Voice of Holland at the office at John de Mol, after which RTL 4 ran away. Did she regret? “Yes, I remember so well. Tears almost jump in my eyes again. It is so bad. It was really a low point in my life when that came on the tube, because oooo … it’s really terrible.”

She continues in the podcast The Media Week“It is very bad. Of course it was 2010, we went on with Popstars and he had sold it to RTL 4, but because we had very little money, we also lost Holland’s Got Talent to RTL. Erland Galjaard can just program very well and what did he have come up with? He started in the summer.”

Center Parcs

Holland’s Got Talent became the summer show of RTL 4. “For ten weeks and then The Voice, but we had nothing of course afterwards. We only had Popstars left. We started that in the summer and then it was Popstars versus Holland’s Got Talent. I remember that I was in a Center Parcs house on the Eemhof.”

And then? “I am sitting there, I am outside, the weather was very nice. I was with my family, my sister was still alive, with my brother -in -law, my niece, her husband, my daughter. We are sitting there outside that house and I hear all the TVs, with Holland’s Got Talent. Nobody looked at SBS 6. Then I knew: oh.”

“It was mega?”

And then The Voice came over it. “That was immediately mega. It was so promoted by Wilma Nanninga, who every day on the Telegraaf … Really, I could tear up that page of De Telegraaf. She had some star from that show every day. She only sat about the Voice for a month.”

“In addition, every day Edwin Evers had a candidate in the studio at 538 for a month. Well, I was not good. My stomach is now turning around again, because of course that whole channel of ours went to hell, through The Voice.”

The Voice returns to the tube at RTL 4 in January, after a long -term break due to cross -border behavior.
