The underground drug lab that was discovered at a shed on the Hapseweg in Cuijk at the end of last year, has caused tons of environmental damage. The police report this on Thursday. The drug waste that was released during the production of synthetic drugs in the lab has been dumped in a ditch behind the shed. Cleaning up this has already cost society more than 70,000 euros.
In the investigation into the underground lab, the police arrested a second suspect last Tuesday, it became clear on Thursday. It is a man of 33 from Ewijk in Gelderland. A 40 -year -old man from Boxmeer was arrested on 8 April. What the men played for role is still being investigated. More arrests are not excluded by the police.
According to the police, the lab, where synthetic drugs were produced, had a substantial production capacity and would have been operational for a long time. The underground lab could be entered through a hidden access in a shed.

Rest room
The lab was professionally equipped and even had a space where ‘laboratory technicians’ could rest. An automatic firearm with a silencer was also found in the room.
Agents found a considerable amount of drugs in the building and raw materials for the production of drugs in December 2024.
