The Netherlands must give asylum seeker a definitive answer within six months, unless there are too many applications

The Netherlands may not let asylum seekers wait longer than six months for a decision about their request if there is no good reason for this. According to the rules, a longer decision period is only permitted if an unexpectedly many asylum seekers submit a request at the same time. The European Court of Justice reports this in a decision on Thursday.
